What are Vessel Covers?

Vessel covers are an essential part of the dissolution test. Tests have shown that a significant amount of evaporation can occur from media at 37°C into the atmosphere.

Good vessel covers will certainly reduce this significantly and failure to use covers will result in evaporation and the consequential decrease in media volume and increase in concentration.

Vessel covers should cover the vessel and have the minimum number of slots and holes. At the same time they should allow easy raising and lowering of paddles and baskets.

Many types of cover exist and most can be used on more than one type of dissolution tester.
